Ethereum Merge testing on Kiln mostly successful, save for one minor bug
Tim Beiko, an Ethereum (ETH) developer, tweeted Tuesday that Kiln had actually passed the Ethereum Merge. Kiln will be the final Merge testnet, previously Ethereum 2.0. “Merge” is the merging of Ethereums Execution Layer with the existing Proof of Work Layer and the Consensus Layer of the Beacon chain.
Prysm, a Go programs language that implements the Ethereum Consensus requirements, is a version of the Go shows language. According to the Ethereum Foundations official roadmap, the Merge upgrade is expected to be offered by the end Q2 2022.
” This merger signifies the culmination 6 years worth of research study and development in Ethereum. It will result in a more protected network and predictable block times. There will also be a 99.98%+ decline in power intake when it is launched on the mainnet in 2022.”
However, testing did not go according to plan. Kiln Explorer claims that there were numerous errors in agreement creation. Beiko reacted to the tweet by stating that a client was not consistently producing blocks, however “the network stability is outstanding, with > 2/3rds of validators effectively completing transactions.” Marius Van Der Wijden, another Ethereum designer, commented on the matter, keeping in mind that Prysm had proposed bad blocks during the Kiln shift.

It appears to have actually worked! Validators are producing post-merge blocks, which contain transactions. https://t.co/xearnsuZFp Just waiting on completion now https://t.co/BEfJOI4qqj pic.twitter.com/c4p1UXB5vw
