OpenSea email over inactive NFT listings sparks Twitter debate

OpenSea sent out an email to users with non-active listings. Twitter users were negative about it. OpenSea notified users that their old NFTs listings can still be fulfilled and they should be canceled. OpenSea can not cancel them for them. This would avoid any items being cost their non-active listing rates due to Ethereums (ETH), dropping price.

According to @dingalingts, a NFT collector, and other users, this warning had an opposite result. The cancellation of the listing resulted in the recreating of the order. @Dingalingts posted a thread asking users to “FIRST transfer you NFT to another address and cancel the listing/s at the initial address BEFORE” cancelling them.

1/ WARNING – DO NOT CANCEL YOUR OS LISTINGS, AS STATED in the EMAIL OPENSEA JUST SENT OUT. Please move your NFT initially to a new address and after that cancel the listing/s at the initial address before sending it back OS puts everybody at higher threat.

He also points out @swolfchan. eth, who claims that he has lost at a lot of 15ETH. It was relisted at 6 ETH after Mutant Ape Yacht Club was cancelled. Somebody in the ETH swimming pool ended up selling the NFT the very same block by front running the cancellation.

15 ETH+ was lost from precisely what they are trying to prevent. I was asked to urgently cancel inactive listings … It cancelled a 15-ETH MAYC @BoredApeYC, which set off a 6ETH listing … and I offered?

Some users, such as @roundcatcrypto, commented to @swolfchan. eth: “This ones for you man.” Do not have fun with business, you were trying to conserve some bucks,” others rallied behind him and @dingalingts.
